From Lugano Airport Agno (LUG)
take a taxi (10 minutes, costs more or less (expect more) SFR 25).
From Zurich Airport (ZHR):
take the train to Lugano (goes once per hour, very nice 3 hour trip through
the Alps).
From Malpensa Airport (MPX): take the bus to Lugano station (roughly 80 min), then go to IDSIA by bus or train or taxi. Note that Malpensa is in Italy.
From Lugano railway station:
Buses depart from Lugano, Genzana, close to the railway station (see the path on this map), every half an hour, and they arrive in Manno, Suglio. Be sure to take the yellow Post Bus 445 (numbers on the online timetable may vary) directed to "Lamone Cadempino, Stazione" as there is also Bus 5 that goes to "Lamone Cadempino, Posta" and it does not stop in Manno, Suglio. You will have then to walk a few minutes to get to IDSIA (see the path on this map).
Timetable
As a posh alternative to the bus, you can take a taxi. Important: give the driver the precise address as IDSIA-SUPSI, in Manno, Galleria 1 building, where the Panalpina depot is. Specify that you want to go to Manno, Galleria 1 (there's another SUPSI site in Lugano-Trevano, and you don't want to end up there, and there are more buildings in Manno hosting SUPSI (Galleria 2, where we previosuly were, and Le Gerre, where the SUPSI headquarters are, and you don't want to go there either, even if it is much closer than Trevano...).
By car: coming
from the north (Gottardo, Bernardino) exit at Lugano Nord, follow the
signs to Ponte Tresa, you'll cross a bridge above the highway; turn left at the traffic
light (turning right would lead you into Manno) and follow Via Cantonale
for some 50 meters; turn left again at the gas station; follow the little
road running in parallel to Via Cantonale until you come to our building.
Take the main entrance from Via Cantonale, on the long side.
Where to park? This is a problem, as we haven't specific parking places for visitors, so public transport is the preferred option. If yoiu really need to come by car, you should park on top of the Galleria 2 building, but first you should arrange your host to provide you with a temporary parking permit.
Getting to IDSIA's premises:
You are now in Manno, close to the Galleria 1 building, but you need to find out IDSIA. In the map below you can see the location of IDSIA (IDSIA logo on top of the map).
We are situated at the 2nd floor of the Galleria 1 building. To reach our offices, you need to enter the building from entrance "A" (West side of the building, green pin on the map below) and take the lift to the 2nd floor. Leaving the lift, turn left and then take a corridor on your right. You should see a "SUPSI" sign. Keep going, our entrance is at the end of the corridor. Ring the bell and someone will come to open the door.
