Classification of cognitive profiles
|
|
The Cognitive Drug Research (CDR) system is designed to assess the cognitive
faculties of a patient; it is widely used in clinical trials and has been
specifically validated for use in dementia. The system is composed by up to 30
different computerized tests, aimed at measuring cognitive faculties, such as
memory, attention, reaction times. The set of such measures is called cognitive
profile.
The project has been targeted to analyze the historical CDR database, to
eventually setup models able to solve the following classification problems:
(a) to discriminate between demented patient and normal elderly patients;
(b) to discriminate between different kinds of dementias (such as Alzheimer,
Vascular Dementia, etc.).
A third field of investigation has been (c) the discrimination between sedated
and non-sedated people after the administration of a drug.
