The SmartH2O project wins the 2018 WssTP Water Innovation Award

The 2018 Water Innovation Prize has been awarded to the SmartH2O Eu-funded project which was led by SUPSI IDSIA and developed in partnership with Politecnico di Milano, the University of Manchester, EIPCM Berlin, SetMobile Bucharest, SES Società Elettrica Sopracenerina, Thames Water, Global Omnium, Moonsubmarine, Universitat Politecnica de Valencia.

Award motivation

"The SmartH20 platform is a data-driven demand management solution that enables utilities to include customers in the efficiency loop. The mission of the SmartH20 project includes and integrates the following set of tools and functionalities, which rely on high spatiotemporal resolution data gathered via intelligent water flow meters: data analytics for water demand profiling and end-use dissagregation, automated customer community segmentation, agent-based modelling, near real-time data visualization to customers and utility managers, customer engagement through real and digital games. SmartH20 brings together two emerging market drivers into an innovative solution: digitalization and social media revolution."
