A reportage of the Dalle Molle Institute for Artificial Intelligence USI-SUPSI realised by photographer Marian Duven and published by the Ticino Scienza portal (IBSA Foundation for Scientific Research) has won the "Image sets" section of the Swiss edition of the Wiki Science Competition 2021.

Antonio Paolillo, a researcher at the Dalle Molle Institute for Artificial Intelligence USI-SUPSI, has contributed to a publication by the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL) and the University of Lausanne (UNIL) in the prestigious journal Science Robotics to investigate the impacts of robotics and artificial intelligence on the job market.

From May 4 to 6, 2022, the Dalle Molle Institute for Artificial Intelligence USI-SUPSI hosted the annual meeting of the European research action INNOGLY COST, a project aimed at creating networks among researchers for the development of knowledge on glycans in different biological contexts. Prof. Andrea Danani, Head of the Computational Biophysics Lab of IDSIA, was interviewed by the magazine Ticino Scienza.

Umberto Junior Mele is doing a PhD at IDSIA, co-supervised by Prof Gambardella (USI) and Prof Montemanni (UniMore, IT). Last weekend Umberto went on a trip, but it was a trip of a special kind.

The Dalle Molle Institute for Artificial Intelligence USI-SUPSI is an academic partner of VIRTUOUS (Virtual tongue to predict the organoleptic profile of Mediterranean ingredients), a project launched in 2019 under the European Marie Curie program, for the prediction of the organoleptic properties of Mediterranean ingredients from their molecular composition.

BigOmics Analytics, a spin-off of the Institute of Oncology Research and Dalle Molle Institute for Artificial Intelligence, announces raising additional funding from Eppendorf, a leading life science company that develops and sells instruments, consumables and services for liquid, sample and cell handling in laboratories worldwide. The additional funding brings the total amount raised so far to CHF 2.7M. It will be used to further develop BigOmics’ platforms, to expand its team and to grow its presence in the market.
