Jürgen Schmidhuber will give a talk on self-aware and conscious AI at the institute of neuroinformatics of ETH Zürich.

Consciousness in AI is a hotly debated topic, especially after the recent developments in large and complex language models, which approximate to uncanny details the interaction with a real human (it is recent news that more than one million users signed up to test ChatGPT).

Jürgen can claim to have ignited most of recent research in this area, with his seminal works that inspired Generative Adversarial Networks and his research on Artificial Curiosity.
