While it might sound a bit incestuous that a Dalle Molle institute receives a Dalle Molle prize, actually the Dalle Molle Foundation is a totally independent organisation and we are pleased to announce that we received the prize from "Fondation Dalle Molle pour la qualité de la vie" for our project "Remotely-assisted Enhanced Mirror Therapy (REMiT)" presenting our idea of telerehabilitation. Our tool uses virtual reality and a hand exoskeleton to enhance mirror therapy for the recovery of lost hand functionalities. By allowing remote connection to the virtual therapy environment, we aim to improve the conditions of both patients and therapists. Congratulations to our IDSIA colleagues Gabriele Abbate and Alessandro Giusti, and Luca Randazzo (from Emovo Care)

Loris Roveda, senior researcher at IDSIA, has co-authored the article "Brain-computer interface for robot control with eye artifacts for assistive applications" which was published on Springer's Nature Scientific Reports. The proposed study has developed a new brain-computer interface (BCI) that enables the control of an assistive robot through electroencephalogram (EEG) signals, specifically utilizing impulses generated by eye movement. The methodology was designed to allow individuals with disabilities to interact with the surrounding environment through an assistive robot.
